i wrote this as part of a course application for rmit

its about why i want to be an animator

Reasons for applying:
The reason I am applying for this course is because I want to be an animator. It truly is as simple as that. I want to create enjoyable media, that I have crafted, in every detail, every colour every shape, to create a world that the audience gets lost in. whether it be with a combination of live actors and cgi, or completely drawn or 3d models. Animation allows us to create worlds unique to anything that currently exists. We can transport our audience forwards or backwards in time, or even into a parallel dimension, to completely draw the audience in and remove them from their own reality. My influences vary from cartoonist such as Walt Disney everyone at Pixar, and Seth Mc Farlene, to screenwriters like Kevin smith, and George Lucas. To directors like David fincher, and Quinton Tarintino, novelists like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and Douglas Adams, to even comic book writers and artist like Mark Miller, Stan Lee.  Essentially anyone who pushed the envelope of their chosen medium to improve the story that they were trying to tell. In the future I want  people to realise that animation can be used in much the same way that comic books are starting to be used to tell mature stories for a wide variety of people instead of just as a medium for children.
